About Jerry Worthington:

It is time again in the world to “Keep On and Carry On”. But as always that is easier said than done. We all need at times to stop and realize the importance of talking out loud about what we are going through to timely process our strategies and decisions. Counseling and coaching is that process to be listened to and challenged about where we are at, where we have been and how to live a more satisfying and successful life.

I have been doing counseling since 1975. I am a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Ohio. I have been in private practice for over 20 years now. I provide coaching using cognitive behavioral and educational approaches as well as hypnotherapy and EMDR.

Qualifications

I have over 40 years experience providing counseling to individuals, couples and families. I continue to enjoy getting to know people who have interest to explore and the courage to face their conflicts from the past and present.

One of the most profound experiences that shaped who I am was working at the Columbus Health Department as the first HIV Supportive Service Coordinator. I counseled individuals who tested positive for HIV or who were at high risk for contracting HIV.

So I look forward to challenges you bring where we can collaborate together to find solutions in your relationship with self, life, and/or others. Let me help you learn to manage life on life’s terms. Another way of saying this is: We cannot always change what happens in life other than our response.

Certified therapy dogs are widely-known to be supportive for the therapist and a productive option for the people they see. Ziggy and Piper have proven their skills time and again and excel at their jobs!
